Pandemic: Iberia is a standalone game with the Pandemic system in a historical guise. As members of the Second Royal Philanthropic Expedition, players must prevent the spread of four diseases. Players take on seven different roles, such as country doctor or agronomist, and travel to different locations across the peninsula to research each disease. They travel by carriage, boat and train to help the Iberian people. In addition to treating patients and passing on knowledge, players also purify water supplies to slow the spread of diseases or build a railway network to make travel between hospitals more efficient. No matter which direction players take, they win or lose as a team.
