Product description

Exploding Kittens is a kitty-powered version of Russian Roulette. Players take turns drawing cards until someone draws an exploding kitten and loses the game. The deck is made up of cards that let you avoid exploding by peeking at cards before you draw, forcing your opponent to draw multiple cards, or shuffling the deck.

The game gets more and more intense with each card you draw because fewer cards left in the deck means a greater chance of drawing the kitten and exploding in a fiery ball of feline hyperbole.

What size are the playing cards in Exploding Kittens?

The cards are 6.3 x 8.8 cm in size. The Exploding Kittens playing cards are therefore the same standard size as poker cards or other card games.

If I buy this expansion in addition to my regular game, can more than 5 people play Exploding Kittens?

No, unfortunately, it still remains at 5 players for your Exploding Kittens game.

Are the German translations well done?

We personally find that the translations are well executed. However, this is always a matter of taste, as with Exploding Kittens.

How is the quality of the game's cards?

The quality of the game cards is exactly the same in both the English and German versions of Exploding Kittens.

Does the packaging meow when opened like the original Exploding Kittens game?

No, unfortunately, the box does not meow. This feature was exclusive to the Kickstarter version of Exploding Kittens at the time.

Is the game now in English or German?

There is now both a German language version and an English language version of Exploding Kittens.

When is the Exploding Kittens Party Pack for 10 people coming out?

The Exploding Kittens Party Pack accommodates up to 10 players, but unfortunately, we are not currently selling it. Try looking on the official website.

    Objective

The goal of Exploding Kittens is to avoid drawing an Exploding Kitten card and to be the last player standing.

    Setup

    1. Remove Exploding Kittens and Defuse Cards: Separate all Exploding Kitten and Defuse cards from the deck.
    2. Distribute Cards: Each player starts with 1 Defuse card and 4 random cards from the deck. The Defuse cards are used to prevent players from exploding.
    3. Reinsert Exploding Kitten Cards: Shuffle the remaining deck and insert enough Exploding Kitten cards back into the deck so that there is one fewer Exploding Kitten card than the number of players. For example, for a 4-player game, use 3 Exploding Kitten cards.
    4. Shuffle the Deck: Shuffle the deck thoroughly with the Exploding Kitten cards inserted.

    Game Play

    1. Turns: Players take turns in a clockwise direction. During a turn, a player can play as many cards as they like from their hand or choose to pass without playing any cards.
    2. Drawing a Card: At the end of their turn, a player must draw one card from the deck. If a player draws an Exploding Kitten card, they must either use a Defuse card to defuse it and place the Exploding Kitten back in the deck in a location of their choosing, or if they do not have a Defuse card, they are out of the game.
    3. Special Cards:
    • Attack: End your turn without drawing a card and force the next player to take two turns in a row.
    • Skip: End your turn without drawing a card.
    • Favor: Force another player to give you a card of their choice.
    • Shuffle: Shuffle the draw pile.
    • See the Future: Peek at the top three cards of the deck and put them back in the same order.
    • Nope: Stop any action except for Exploding Kittens and Defuse cards.
    • Cat Cards: Collect matching pairs of Cat cards to steal a random card from another player.

    Winning the Game

The game continues with players taking turns drawing cards until only one player remains. The last player who has not drawn an Exploding Kitten and exploded is the winner.

    Additional Rules

    1. Defuse Cards: When a Defuse card is used, the player must place the Exploding Kitten card back into the deck in a secret location. They may shuffle or look through the deck to place it strategically.
    2. Run Out of Cards: If a player runs out of cards, they continue to draw one card per turn until they explode or the game ends.

These are the core rules to get you started with Exploding Kittens. The game is easy to learn but offers plenty of strategies and surprises as players try to outwit each other and avoid exploding.
